Maybe it's because I'm from Dundee, but for me, a bridie is a fundamental constant, like the speed of light or e. How could you improve on it anyway? Put a bridie inside a bridie? Poppycock! * Finally, we come full circle: widget (physical) goes to widget (software) goes to phidget (physical, but with the pointy corners rounded off to suit us poor software people).
